River Campus

The River Campus is the main undergraduate campus of the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ. It is located in a picturesque area along the Genesee River and boasts stunning views of the city skyline.

History

The land that River Campus is situated on and the abutting Genesee River have rich histories. The campus was once the site of an Algonquin Settlement and extensive farmland. It saw Revolutionary War activity and was the location of golf course. Near the River Campus location, the Genesee River was used to support the building and use of the Erie Canal. Later, the Erie Railroad was built through the future campus' northern side. River Campus' 154 acres has been an integral part of the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ, and to the City of Rochester itself.
