Minority Youth Development in Urban Contexts

Provides an exploration of developmental and sociocultural processes that impact long-term outcomes for minority students. Examines influential environmental issues that focus on cultural, educational, structural, and sociopolitical factors. Students acquire an understanding of how these influences (e.g., racial socialization, parental stressors, and residential segregation) can impact development for minority children and how this knowledge can inform intervention strategies.
