Advocacy, Consulting, and Systems Change as Counseling and Human Development Practice

Situates counselors, clients, schools and community agencies in relation to relevant social systemic forces. Explores systems theory and models of intervention that are facilitated through advocacy, consultation, and challenge to existing social systems. This applied approach to human development is directed toward understanding the design and implementation of practices facilitating psychological competence and empowerment, preventing disorder, and promoting social action and change. Includes basic principles of program evaluation.
